Connecticut Yankees - In The Spotlight
After a tough loss to the Chicago Blackhawks, the CT Yankees bounced back with three wins over Atlantic Provence, Minnesota Blades and Pro Hockey.
The Yankees will now move on to the semi finals Saturday afternoon against either the Toronto Bulldogs or the Saskatchewan Pats. This marks the first time the Yankees have advanced to the semifinals in three years. Congratulations and best of luck to the boys tomorrow.
The CT Yankee 2001 Brick team encountered a much more difficult second game of the Brick Tournament against the Winnipeg Little Jets on Tuesday morning.
After falling behind 1 0 the Yankees rallied for a 3 1 victory behind a solid defense and relentless offense. Trevor Zegras and Robert Mastrosimone were the stars of the game for the Yankees. For Zegras this was his second star of the game in two games. Next up for the Yankees are the strong Chicago Jr Blackhawks Wednesday at 5:00pm Edmonton time.
The 2001 CT Yankee Brick team used a smothering defense and opportunistic offense to beat the Detroit Little Red Wings 6 to 1 in the first game of the Brick Tournament in Edmonton.
Trevor Zegras and Briggs Gammill shared player of the game honors. Game two is tomorrow morning against a strong Winnipeg Jet team.
1998, 2000 and 2003 CT Yankees teams are the Marlborough Spring Fling AAA Elite Tournament Champions!!
What an exciting weekend of hockey!!
Congratulations to all the coaches, players and parents.
The 1998 team beat The Tribe with an explosive, offensive game, winning 10-4 in the finals.
The 00 team beat the Jersey Hitmen with a fantastic 5-2 victory in the finals.
The 03's had an exciting, come from behind victory, to beat the Shamrocks Elite 5-4 in the finals.
We would also like to congratulate the 97, 01 and 04 teams for an impressive weekend of hockey. They played and competed really hard all weekend.

Congratulations to the players and coaches of the AAA CT Yankees 01 Brick Team for their Championship victory in the Toronto Maple Leaf Invitational.
On the way to their championship game, they had victories against the Boston Jr. Bruins, the New England Storm, the Bauer Selects, and The Toronto Bulldogs, all great teams!
In a fantastic championship game, they made a great comeback after being down 2 goals. Then it was 3-3. After scoring a late third period goal, they defeated the Toronto Bulldogs 4-3 for the Championship. This is a great win for the team and the organization. All the players, coaches, and parents should be very proud! Congratulations!!!
